USK’s Long-Term Commitment: Initiating an Endowment Fund for Student Innovation and Achievement

Syiah Kuala University (USK) has taken a monumental step in securing the future of higher education by officially launching the Dana Lestari (USK Endowment Fund). The Grand Launching and Workshop were solemnly held at the AAC Dayan Dawood Building on Tuesday, October 17, 2023.

This strategic initiative aims to ensure the sustainability of high-quality higher education for future generations. The Rector of USK, Prof. Dr. Ir. Marwan, IPU, who officially opened the event, stated that through the Dana Lestari program, the university is fully committed to supporting the development of cutting-edge curricula, innovative research, infrastructure modernization, and the provision of scholarships for outstanding students.

“With the support of Dana Lestari, the university can continue to strengthen its position as a center of knowledge capable of producing outstanding graduates who contribute significantly to the advancement of society and the world,” said the Rector in his remarks. “Dana Lestari is the key to a brighter and more independent future for the university.”

Presenting National Experts, the Workshop Discusses Endowment Fund Management Strategies

The launching event was enriched with an in-depth workshop session featuring leading experts in investment and endowment fund management who shared valuable insights and best practices. The workshop session was presented by:

• Muhammad Oriza, Director of Investment at LPDP
• Deddy Priatmojo Koesrindartoto, Director of the Business and Endowment Fund Management Agency (BPUDL) of ITB
• Dasrul Chaniago, Director of PT Majoris Asset Management

The presence of these experts demonstrates USK’s commitment to managing the Dana Lestari in a professional, transparent, and sustainable manner, following the success of national and global endowment fund institutions. The event, which began at 8:30 a.m. WIB, marked a new milestone in the independence and progress of Syiah Kuala University.
